Repainting the house
If you keep repainting your siding after every four to five years, then your siding must be having an issue. Quality siding will still have its color and shape for approximately a decade. When you start to see pealing, cracking, or chipping, these are signs that you need to make a replacement.
Rotted or Warped Siding
It is also important to make regular checks around your house’s siding on a regular basis. Use a screwdriver to poke the warped area of the siding to check if the underlayer is still hard. If it feels soft, it has started to rot and you need to replace the siding as soon as possible.
Increased energy bills
There are lots of reasons as to why your energy bills soar. One of the first inspections to perform is checking the status of the attic and the roof. Once these two areas are ruled out, you can inspect the siding. A poor siding and low-grade wall insulation can be the cause of the rise in heating and cooling costs.
Bubbling
Bubbles present in the siding is a sure sign that water is being trapped. Siding is supposed to keep away moisture from getting to the interior walls.
Mold, fungus and mildew
